Ikiré Jones at the Vitra Design Museum
We dreamt of tomorrow. We sought to push things forward. Little did we know that images we jettisoned into the ether would find their way across the world, and onto the walls of a traveling design exhibit with like-minded futurists. It is time to move on from archaic fever dreams of Africa as a Dark Continent. The "Making Africa" exhibit, which began at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil Am Rhein, Germany, before moving to the Guggenheim Bilbao and then the Centre de Cultura Contemporani de Barcelona, features the work of Ikiré Jones, Lekan Jeyifous (aka "Vigilism") and many others. This is just the beginning.
