Talks & Presentations
In addition to his role as the creative director at Ikiré Jones, Walé Oyéjidé travels internationally to give talks about his design work, and about the way geopolitics and cultural phenomena affect the art that he creates. Mr. Oyéjidé takes great pride in creating work that is not only aesthetically beautiful, but also relevant to ever-shifting landscape we all live in.
Because of his unique background as a Nigerian-American who has resided on different continents, and his storied career experiences as a musician, an attorney and a designer, Walé Oyéjidé offers a unique perspective on what it means to be a creative seeking to tell new stories while straddling influences from different points of the globe. Mr. Oyéjidé has been invited to hold discussions about his African-inspired design in Brazil, Ecuador, France, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, United States, and Tanzania. His work has been exhibited at the Vitra Design Museum in Berlin, the Guggenheim Bilbao in Spain, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in Israel and the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the United States, among other places. His work has also been discussed in National Geographic Travel Magazine, The New York Times, The Guardian, Monocle and other publications.
